     8 1/2 year-old Mike was surrendered to shelter by his 95 year-old guardian on 01/18/2013. Mike lived his life in an outdoor pen and had very little contact with people or other dogs. He has serious food aggression issues and was never housebroken because he was never inside a home. On 02/02/2013 I was informed that Mike was going to be euthanized because nobody had come forward to adopt him. A true guardian angel saw Mike on Rescue Me! and we made contact to talk about Mike. She only found out about Mike's desperate need when she saw the posting on this website. This absolutely wonderful and loving lady and her husband made the decision to save Mike and to provide him with a home, care and love without ever seeing him and despite his challenges. Mike is a wonderful soul and is most deserving of a chance to have the remainder of his life being cared for, trained and loved! Tomorrow, I will be driving Mike 437 miles to his new home and his new family. He will have two new doggie siblings and a parrot to keep him company along with a new mom and dad. Though I will miss Mike terribly this is the best possible outcome for him and this is all about him.
